A friend of mine told me yesterday that a new season won't happen. The end of the show will be at the end of this season. I read this morning that the co-writer David S. Goyer left the team, but I did not find anything else about a season 2.
Do you know anything about?!

Nobody knows anything yet. Season 2 has been or is being written but whether we see it is another matter entirely. There are lots of fans of the show but there are an awful lot of people who have lost interest sad.gif

I don't think we need to worry too much about Goyer leaving, he will still be involved in the show, he just won't be running it anymore smile.gif

I think it depends on how successfull the second part of season 1 will be. ABC will need another big hit after Lost is finished at the end of May (coincidentally the end of FF season 1 should be also in May) and FF has the potential to be such a hit. But if the ratings keep on decreasing when the show returns, I doubt ABC would invest money into maing season 2. sad.gif So fingers crossed the second part of season 1 will be successfull! smile.gif What I don't get is why there seems to be no re-run of the first ten episodes in the US. That would help to remind people that what FF is about and even bring new viewers.

I agree with Kaz that Goyer leaving is not necessarily a bad news. He'll be still involved in the production, so he's not abandoning the show completely. smile.gif

It's also important to note that if ABC drop the show, there is a chance another channel will take it smile.gif

Alright, thanks, I'm relieved tongue.gif Your idea is what I thought, but as I did not find anything about that, I was a bit worried. So keeping my fingers crossed!

Yes, that's true. I didn't think of that. biggrin.gif

We must stay positive. There's always hope. biggrin.gif

Reports have indicated that FlashForward actually stands a decent chance of coming back next season as well. For one thing, it's an ABC Studios production, which means it's much cheaper for ABC to keep on the air than a show from another production company.

But the biggest factor appears to be its popularity overseas. While the series shed approximately 40% of its viewers over the course of its initial run in the US, it remains one of the more popular exports for ABC. That strength, which means revenue, might be enough for ABC to give it a second try.

Quote from this article Beware that the article contains a spoiler! (The same one I tweeted about a couple of days ago)

This sounds very promising, doesn't it? biggrin.gif

I believe that, especially with the closing of a terrific series in LOST, ABC will have no choice but to keep Flash Forward when season 2 is ready. For I have no doubt there will be a season 2. I don't believe ABC will have the gull to let Flash Forward go, despite its ratings in the second half of the season merely because the majority of their LOST fanbase is now getting into Flash Forward because it's the closest thing to a similarity LOST has ever had.

I like your thinking! I don't really know how these things work, but I do know that Squirrelio Fans is about to get involved in a huge project to help make Season 2 happen. smile.gif

I really hope you're right, A J.smile.gif It'd be a real shame if FlashForward doesn't get at least one more season.

Last night's ratings were very low. I'm starting to lose hope there will be another season. sad.gif

I saw a interview with the writers where it was reported that 3 seasons of episodes werealready written. They said that it was versatile enough to shorten some or extend it as long as 5 seasons or more.

I think they only said that they have already planned a story for 5 seasons and it could be shortened to 3 seasons or extended up to 7 seasons. However, the script hasn't been written.

It'd be great if they could make a movie of the remaining story they planned to tell, at least, but I doubt anyone would be willing to invest money into it. sad.gif

Chin up, Evik! You've been one of the leaders of the Save Flashforward movement - don't lose heart now. The Facebook and Twitter campaigns seem to be going well. Press releases and videos are being prepared. We're all writing to SYFY and (to a lesser extent) to HBO. There are other companies on the list too, but SYFY's the main target ATM. Best of all, Jessika B has tweeted her blessing to the cause, indicating that the production team share our passion. I'm being positive.

As I've said elsewhere, previous generations employed civil disobedience and protest in their fight for independence, democracy, and peace. Surely we can save one small television show. It has been done before. wink.gif

biggrin.gif Sorry. I just tend to be pessimistic most of the times.

Yeah, I think there's a chance it might get picked up by another TV. We'll have to keep fighting and let the world know the show has many fans around the world.

We should complement each other well, because I'm one of those terribly annoying crusader types. wink.gif I'm too proactive to keep still for even a moment and a firm believer in contingency planning (if the current approach fails, then we move onto plan B!) At times, some of my more dour colleagues look as though they want to hit me!

There are a couple of downers today. Kristin Dos Santos, the television columnist who was on our side, has confirmed ABC's decision (I think the upfronts are in a few hours, but the press would have access to an early release). A friend and I also wrote to UK's Five-tv last week. This morning we had our response: they're supportive and seem to share our frustration, but not in a position to be production partners for the show. Five-tv are not rolling in money, so we can't blame them for that.

No matter - SYFY, HBO, TNT, and Fox all remain legitimate targets! Onward!

Shame about Five not wanting to co-produce it. sad.gif I heard HBO rarely picks up shows that were cancelled too. I think Fox might be the one. They cancelled '24' and I think FlashForward has the potential to fill in the void. biggrin.gif
